Alexander Vitus Mogensen

Founder

Alluxity is the brainchild of Alexander Vitus Mogensen, inheriting a legacy of audiophile expertise from his father, Hans Ole Vitus, the founder of Vitus Audio. Alexander, having immersed himself in circuit design, software, and computer-aided design, has led Alluxity to create an audio experience that seamlessly integrates elegance, simplicity, and high-end performance.

As of Spring 2022, Alexander has taken the helm as the CEO of both Vitus Audio and Alluxity, with Hans Ole Vitus focusing on R&D for new products. The transition signifies a continuation of the Vitus family’s commitment to delivering unparalleled audio quality.

Details About the Company

Alluxity’s philosophy revolves around addressing the evolving lifestyle trends, where electronics play an increasing role in our lives. The brand recognizes the challenge of integrating hi-fi into modern living spaces without compromising on sound quality. To overcome this, Alluxity focuses on crafting uncomplicated, minimalistic products with a modern design that fits seamlessly into the user’s lifestyle.

The company identifies three critical problems in the industry: the challenge of fitting bulky amplifiers into modern interiors, the lack of awareness about the potential for superior sound quality, and the increasing divide between unaffordable high-end and lower-performance “lifestyle” choices.

To tackle these issues, Alluxity adopts a user-centric approach, designing home-friendly products that prioritize simplicity, modern aesthetics, and intuitive functionality. The goal is to expose new generations to the world of high-quality sound without dominating their living spaces.

European Tour 2022: AVA Group—AVM-TEC, Vitus Audio, and Alluxity
Vitus Audio has been a staple of the high-end solid-state electronics realm since Hans-Ole Vitus established it, under the umbrella of AVA Group, in 1995. His son, Alexander Vitus Mogensen, started AVM-TEC—primarily a manufacturing and measurement firm—at the ripe old age of 18. Around that time, Alexander also launched Alluxity, a high-end brand that makes design-conscious—but still very high-end—electronics, including integrated amplifiers, power amplifiers, and preamplifiers. This year AVA Group and AVM-TEC merged, and they operate out of a shared building in Herning, Denmark. It took roughly an hour and a half to travel from Aarhus—our home base at the time—to Herning to tour the factory and learn more about the new AVA Group.

Alluxity Power Two Stereo Amplifier Review
Alluxity Power Two Stereo Amplifier Review

The Alluxity Power Two is a beautiful new stereo power amplifier from a fairly new company. Alluxity, the brand, is manufactured by AVM-TEC. The company and brand were formed in Denmark in 2010, and while the company is new, it has an excellent pedigree. The head of AVM-TEC is Alexander Vitus-Mogensen, the son of Hans-Ole Vitus of Vitus Audio. The goals for Alluxity products are to design products that fit into the home (unlike so many current high-end products), that sounds very good, and that is fairly priced but built with a focus on quality. Those sound like relatively anodyne goals but, to jump ahead, they are achieved with ease. And I might add that for me (being half-Danish by background, with some relatives named Mogensen!) such modesty is not unexpected – hyperbole is not part of the usual marketing of Danish products.

Some things are electric, but they don’t need the Internet. These days, this is no longer a matter of course, not even for toothbrushes and coffee machines. And in the area of exquisite sound components, standards from the consumer sector have found their way in as a matter of course. When you take a look at the Alluxity Int One mkII, you wouldn’t expect puristic circuitry behind the display, but rather a filigreed computing brain. In actuality, though, this device doesn’t even have Bluetooth. After all, you don’t really need it anyway …

History is unfolding before our eyes. Or at least it looks that way. We are witnessing the birth of a new brand – here and now. The first product with the Alluxity logo was presented in January 2013 at the CES show in Las Vegas but it wasn’t until a few months later, during the High End Show in Munich, that the whole world heard about it (see our coverage of the show HERE).
